Edgar Cayce His Life
Firstly about this kind of work it can be hit and miss people need to understand that clarity of the readings depends on the persons state of mind when receiving the information via the sub consciousness if for instance you went and saw a clairvoyant about a reading and he/she just had a fight with his/her loved one it is safe to presume that in some way it would effect the reading
I find Edgar Cayces work to be very accurate and most of his life was lived in hardship which keeps a man humble and committed and with his religious piety added honesty to his attributes which added to his gifts authenticity , Even today i am amazed at the accuracy of some of the readings especially when you consider his reading recommends eating 3 unblanched almonds each day to stop bodily growths now if you check the whole vitamin B17 laetril proof of cancer treatment and theories it will blow you away , But that is one in so many that made me think a lot about things i sometimes use his work to cross reference other things say for instance on a site i frequent often there are videos put up about Christ the facts and myths about his existence some believing he didn't and some believing he existed and honestly with no word of a lie i have seen both sides of the argument i still haven't made my mind up yet they are both solid theories, Cayce talks about Christs early years how he traveled to India so he could study astrology and goes into the life of Christ and his incarnations there is the other side of the coin though the whole summer solstice and the borrowings of myth from the Egyptian and Mithras religions the same story just with different characters anyway back to the main topic the life of this amazing man
Born on March 18 1877 to Leslie .B. Cayce and Carrie .E. Cayce in Hopkinsville Kentucky His early years are interesting he was constantly in commune with spirits they were his imaginary friends and deceased family members (apparently he used to talk to his dead grandfather out in the stables ) even on one account the spirits mocked his father when he was getting told off one day which caused him to laugh , another episode was when young Edgar was reading his bible when an angel appeared and told him that his prayers had been heard and asked what he wanted to do with his life to which he replied " I want to help people especially sick kids " to which the angel vanished, another interesting testimonial of him growing up and doing poorly at school which he was having difficulty in spelling when his father gave him a hard time about it he asked if he could rest for five minutes to which he rested his head on the book he was learning from 5 minutes later he could recite any word and spell it with no effort what soever after this he could absorb books contents mentally by just holding them to his forehead it is also told his love for the bible started in his youth also
From his late teens to his early 20s Edgar worked in the local bookstore where he met his future wife Gurtrude Evans to which there was a 6 year courtship .In that time Edgar formed a business partnership with his father to sell insurance and was traveling on the road a lot , It was during this time that Edgar's voice became really bad to the point where he was near mute and trying to sell insurance to people on a notepad .His next career move was into the realm of photography a trade where he could get away with minimal speech. Edgar actually was a very good photographer he had a uncanny knack of being able to pacify children so they could be photographed one of his photos won the national kodak award . In the spring of 1901 Hart -the laugh king a performing hypnotist and stage magician did a show at the Hopkinsville Opera house during the show Hart asked for a volunteer to which the crowd cried in unison for the young Edgar to go up and when Edgar was put in a trace state he started to talk much to the crowds amazement but post performance his voice was gone again even after Hart's suggestion that it should stay .A man in the crowd by the name of Al Layne a local man with a degree in hypnotism offered to help Edgar get his voice back and tried a few times to get him to talk with no luck post treatment.
Till one day Layne was offered some advice to ask Edgar how he should cure himself while in trance ,Next session Layne asked Edgar According to the reading, his voice loss was due to psychological paralysis and could be corrected by increasing the blood flow to the voice box. Layne suggested that the blood flow be increased, and Cayce's face supposedly became flushed with blood and his chest area and the throat turned bright red. After 20 minutes Cayce, still in trance, declared the treatment over. On awakening, his voice was alleged to have remained normal. Relapses were said to have occurred but were said to have been corrected by Layne in the same way, and eventually the cure was said to be permanent.
After this Layne asked him to do readings for the general public and from here on his fame grew.
For a simple deeply religious family man with a 8th grade education he managed to successfully diagnose, perscribe treat and cure almost 9000 people, not to mention that for all his career he was shunned by the medical community because of his unorthidox treatments ,Also was arrested several times on practicing with out having a medical license. His readings with diet , past lives , Atlantis and Egypt, Meditation ,Auras , Creation and many more subjects were to me just as important as the medical readings .
I think that this field is really interesting and in some regards has some really creditable work .There was a few really good books written about Edgar Cayce here is one i found
There is a River by Thomas J Sugrue this is a uncompleted google book only the last 20 pages are missing
